Harbor Montessori School – Gig Harbor, WA Position Start Date: 2025–2026 Academic Year (July 2025) - This is a full time, on-site, 12 month position.
Harbor Montessori School (HMS) is actively searching for a vibrant and compassionate Elementary ProgramDirector for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold both Lower and Upper Elementary Montessori credentials; however, candidates with just one of these credentials will also be considered.
Located on a beautiful four-acre campus just two miles from downtown Gig Harbor, HMS features well-equipped classrooms, small class sizes, and a welcoming, joyful faculty and staff. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Faculty and staff mentoring and oversight
- Family relations
- Professional development and curriculum coordination
- Student support
- Ensure the elementary programs meet AMS and NWAIS accreditation standards
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of five years full-time Montessori classroom experience at the elementary level
- Deep understanding of Montessori education and child development in the second plane
- Strong interpersonal, team collaboration, and relational skills
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated leadership capabilities
EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with evidence of ongoing professional development
- AMS or AMI Montessori Elementary Credential
- Ten or more hours of documented professional development per year
- Washington State Teacher Certification (preferred)
The salary range at Harbor Montessori school is $79,000-$89,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
