Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.
We are currently hiring an experienced Host/Hostess to support our 5-star Dining and Catering operation. Positive, friendly individuals with a professional appearance are encouraged to apply. We offer an attractive compensation and benefits package. We are located on the waterfront which offers stunning riverfront views of the Elizabeth River from the dining venues.
The Host/Hostess takes reservations, greets, and seats residents and guests in the Dining Room. The position will support the Dining and Catering Departments to deliver high quality services. Uniforms are provided (black pants, white shirt, black vest). Free meals and no late nights.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
- At least one (1) year of relevant work experience preferred. Willing to train.
- Food Handlers Card required, training offered during orientation.
- Current COVID-19 Vaccine is required to support the health and safety of our residents and staff.
- Demonstrate engaging and positive demeanor with genuine desire to work successfully with the elderly and/or disabled.
- Must be able to exert a minimum of 50 lbs. of energy in order to assist elderly in and out of wheelchairs, beds, etc., as well as be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch and kneel, balance and maintain body equilibrium to prevent falls, reach over the head, push/pull, and grasp with both hands.
- Must be able to successfully follow verbal written and verbal instructions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Must be able to communicate tactfully and effectively with all personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
