Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.
We are seeking highly qualified full-time and part-time Housekeepers to join our team to deliver excellent services for our residents and staff. The ideal candidates will have senior living experience (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, memory support) with a passion for working with an elderly population. The Housekeepers are responsible for performing assigned cleaning and housekeeping duties within our facility following established quality care and service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all Housekeeping protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established health, infection control, universal precautions, sanitation, industry standards, and facilities’ appearance policies and regulations.
- Clean and provide sanitation to all private residences, healthcare units, and common areas to include dusting, polishing, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, etc., in accordance with established health, hygiene, and appearance policies and regulations with priority established by management.
- Utilize good stewardship with inventory, supplies, and equipment. Report any shortages to management.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least one (1) year of housekeeping experience in a healthcare environment, which meets or exceeds high quality care and service standards.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and timely.
- Effectively communicate with all personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public demonstrating excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Strong desire to work in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational, and time management skills, and model Service Excellence.
- Current COVID-19 Vaccine is required to support the health and safety of our residents and staff.
- Effective communication with all personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public demonstrating excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills. Demonstrate engaging and positive demeanor.
- Able to exert a minimum of 50 lbs. of energy in order to assist elderly in and out of wheelchairs, beds, etc., as well as be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch and kneel, balance, and maintain body equilibrium to prevent falls, reach over the head, push/pull, and grasp with both hands.
