What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition Care Supervisor position at Harbor's Edge Continuing Care Retirement Community?
The Nutrition Care Supervisor is responsible for proper assembly and service of foods; sanitation and safety of service, maintain standards in all areas of dining department to include Assisted Living, Healthcare and Memory Support dining rooms. Visits resident’s table during meal service to ensure resident satisfaction and support the Dining and Catering department’s mission of delivering quality service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Print and post weekly menus, week at a glance and make changes when needed
- Ensure staff are following menu selections and diet orders. Use judgement and initiative in making last minute changes and satisfying resident’s request. Ensure food served in correct portions and at proper temperature.
- Visit all new admits for food preferences and allergies. Review mealtimes, guest meals and optional menu choices.
- Assist in the selection and orientation of employees and ensures continuous training of staff in areas of responsibility
- Maintain records of dietary needs. Coordinates and oversees the daily and weekly activities/task are performed by staff in areas of responsibility including catering events
- Demonstrate positive resident relations and facility’s quality care and service standards to residents, families, and guest. Maintain positive, cheerful attitude always
- Maintain supplies needed by completing weekly requisition sheets to be submitted to storeroom clerk
- Follow sanitation and safe food handling guidelines. Evaluate and observe work area daily, report any issues out of compliance to Dietary Manager.
- Interact with nursing staff to ensure resident’s food needs are being met. Communicate food preferences to Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned. Attend in-service classes and staff meetings that are required
- Complete MDS, Care Plans and attend Care Plan meetings in the absence of Dietary Manager
