Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.
We are seeking a highly qualified, Painter to join our team to assist in delivering excellent care for our residents. The ideal candidates will have senior living experience (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, memory support) with a passion for working with an elderly population.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Complete work orders associated with painting and/or painting responsibilities requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform room painting in apartments, dining room, public/common areas, corridors, halls, and/or offices.
- Perform apartment painting for Marketing apartment turnovers.
- Complete required paperwork including requisitioning of appropriate tools and supplies for each assigned work order.
- Keep all areas neat/orderly and properly clean up after completion of painting tasks and in accordance with OSHA standards and regulations.
- Assist other maintenance mechanics to complete nominal tasks.
- Complete other tasks as assigned and attend departmental meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- 2 years of residential or commercial painting experience
- Ability to complete projects on-time
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to read and write and follow written and spoken instructions
- Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion
