Description
Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.
Harbor's Edge is currently seeking experienced wait staff to support our exceptional five-star Dining and Catering operations. Positive and friendly individuals with a professional, respectful demeanor are encouraged to apply. We are located on the waterfront which offers stunning riverfront views of the Elizabeth River from our dining venues.
The Server will wait tables, maintain the dining room and service areas for cleanliness and sanitation, and assist with special functions. Full-time and part-time work schedules are available. Shifts are generally from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Full-time servers will have a break between guest seatings from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain proper table settings, placement of flatware, glasses, napkins, condiment dishes, and vases.
- Serve residents promptly, courteously, and in a professional manner, ensuring accuracy of orders.
- Clear dishes after meal service, clean tables and chairs, and reset tables for the next meal.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of service for special functions.
- Demonstrate positive resident relations and adheres to the facility’s quality care and service standards for all residents, families, and guests.
- Follow proper sanitation and safe food handling guidelines.
- Use Point of Sale system with maximum accuracy.
- Maintain a positive, cheerful demeanor and persona at all times.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- At least one (1) year of relevant server experience preferred. Willing to train.
- Food Handlers Card required, training offered during orientation.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and timely.
- Effectively communicate with all personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public demonstrating excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills. Demonstrate engaging and positive demeanor.
- Strong desire to work in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational, and time management skills, and model Service Excellence.
- Current COVID-19 Vaccine is required to support the health and safety of our residents and staff.
- Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch and kneel, balance, and maintain body equilibrium to prevent falls, reach over the head, push/pull, and grasp with both hands.
