Duties & Responsibilities
- Create build plans, setup documents, design summaries, and project imagery that are clear and concise with minimal revisions
- Create work that meets client goals with minimal revisions
- Work collaboratively and approach projects with innovative ideas
- Think technically and practically with a knowledge of scenic style build practices and with the end user in mind
- Move at an efficient pace through multiple projects and stacked deadlines, demonstrating excellent time management skills
- Adhere to design procedures set forth by the Creative Director
- Utilize design concepts and work with the Creative Director to help execute new projects :
- ideation, mood boards, research and development, hand sketching
- listening and adjusting ideas based on client feedback
- Efficiently work in Sketchup & Adobe Suite to translate ideas into 2D & 3D mock ups
- Create stunning, client ready visuals of designs in Vray or comparable rendering software
- Efficiently work in Sketchup Layout, AutoCAD, or comparable 2D drafting software for build plans and technical drawings
- Propose and price out materials effectively and quickly
- Create small and large scale prototypes and physical models
- Maintain clear and effective communication at all times with Creative Director, Production Manager, and Events Manager on project timelines
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Adhere to shop rules and maintain shop safety as set forth by Production Manager
- Travel to event sites and assist with install and run of show
- Track and organize all expenses as related to the projects you are working
- All other duties as necessary
- The need to be a general “runner” and / or assistant will arise, especially when on an event site. Keeping a positive attitude and knowing you are working towards the goal of seeing a project complete is imperative.
