OrganizationFounded in 2009, Harboring Hearts provides emergency housing, transportation, food and other critical resources to transplant and cardiac surgery patients and their families. For more information visit www.harboringhearts.org .PositionThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Harboring Hearts provides executive level vision and strategic leadership for the organization. The focus of this role will be creating future sustainability, by developing and implementing a plan for growth and expansion. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be the key ambassador of the organization. The CEO will lead the strategic direction of the organization and be responsible for articulating the vision, leading all fundraising efforts and providing support to the day-to-day administrative functions of the organization. The CEO will assure that the organization, its mission, and programs are consistently presented with a strong, positive image to all stakeholders. The CEO will support and supervise all staff and consultants and will have a deep understanding of the organization’s programs and support the development of new programs.Key responsibilities includeOrganizational development : Establish annual organizational goals through a strategic planning process that includes the timelines and strategies to achieve themStrengthen existing and foster new programmatic and fundraising partnershipsStreamline reporting for all stakeholdersDevelopment / fundraising : Create and implement an annual fundraising strategy and achieve all fundraising goalsIncrease fundraising $1,120,000 million annually in the short term, with increased fundraising successes year after year thereafterDevelop, plan and implement all fundraising events, including key annual eventMaintain strong relationships with high level existing donors and establish new relationshipsEngage strategically in partnership development and managementResearch new funding sources and develop new revenue streamsResearch grant opportunities and submit grant proposals for these opportunitiesManage development staffProgram oversight and development : Support the development, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting processes for the organization's programs and servicesEnsure that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization's mission, meet a critical community need, and reflect the priorities of the BoardDevelop, maintain or improve programmatic partnerships with hospitals, organizations, communities, and individualsCommunicate with the Board and stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organizationFinancial management : Develop an annual budget and maintain monthly financial statementsWork with staff and accountant to understand monthly, quarterly and annual financial reportsManage organization’s resources within budget guidelinesManage any finance staffVisibility : Oversee & guide the organization’s public profile, communications, and public relations including all social media representationLeverage external presence and relationships to garner new opportunitiesIn partnership with Founder & Co-founder, serve as the primary spokesperson for the organizationRepresent the organization at public eventsBoard development : Ensure the Board members have the necessary information about organizational issues to execute their duties responsiblyPrepare materials and agendas for board meetings (3 per year)Seek out and cultivate relationships with potential Board members, grow the BoardCreate Advisory / Honorary BoardProvide guidance and management for the BoardManage and cultivate the thriving Junior BoardQualificationsBachelor's Degree10 years demonstrated success in nonprofit leadership experienceExtensive fundraising success in a non profit settingExperience in managing support staff (HR experience a plus)Experience working in a small non profit or start up (a plus)Strategic thinkerVisionary but also detailed orientedUnderstanding of how to leave your ego at the doorCreative, glass half full mindsetLover of building relationshipsDetermined problem solver, enjoys challengesBased in Tri-state areaCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive health insurance401(k)Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and personal daysHybrid work environmentMaternity / paternity leaveHarboring Hearts is an equal opportunity employer#J-18808-Ljbffr
