Summary:
The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for analyzing, assessing, documenting, and designing scalable and sustainable data architecture and management solutions that address key business use cases. This role involves collaborating with cross functional teams to offer subject matter expertise in data architecture, which includes the design, deployment, and management of solutions that align with the enterprise data strategy. The individual operates under the guidance of the VP of Business Systems Delivery.
What You’ll Do
Deliver data capabilities which enable the business to realize value through consistent, accurate, reliable, and high-quality data.
Understand thoroughly the architecture, data structures, and fundamental design principles of the data warehouse.
Design and deploy data solutions that align to strategic initiatives.
Develop best-in-class solutions using traditional and non-traditional sources of information; determine the best technical architectural design for a system based upon business requirements.
Design, develop and modify relational and multidimensional database structures, relationships, data flows and data interfaces within the data warehouse as needed.
Analyze, define, and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements, and production configuration.
Modify and monitor the data load ETL processes as needed to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources into the data warehouse, as required.
Maintain industry and technical knowledge of such things as current system integration, performance issues, and flexibility of technical tools available.
Enforces uniform adherence to established standards and procedures for the department. Reviews documentation submitted by programmers to ensure conformity to standards.
Work with Data Analytics team to build and maintain data dictionaries and business glossaries, data definitions and metadata for all business-critical data domains.
Assist developers with complex query development and performance optimization.
Conduct design, documentation, and code review.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; Advanced degree and/or advanced industry certification strongly encouraged.
8-12 years of architecture design, development, and implementation experience of enterprise-level database solutions and 4-6 years of deep focus on data structures—data lakes, data warehouses, etc.
Proficient in relational and non-relational database structures, principles, and practices.
Expert in the best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and modeling.
Proficient in working with large and complex datasets using SQL and other methodologies.
Proficient in working with cloud-based solutions—ETL/ELT tools, data warehouses, and reporting and analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, DBT, Snowflake, Informatica, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
Experience with Banking and Financial Services products and applications.
Experience with Project Management, Agile, and SDLC methodologies.
Proficient in python and batch scripting.
Strong understanding of data and platform security principles.
Ability to work with the reporting team to build out the underlying data models to support reporting deliverables.
