Harbortown Treatment Center, an outpatient substance abuse facility in Benton Harbor, MI, is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to join our growing organization. The Phlebotomist will play a crucial role in helping us provide the best care to our patients by accurately and efficiently collecting and preparing quality blood samples.
Main Responsibilities:
- Draw blood from patients in clinic and prepare samples for lab pickup.
- Assemble equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray, according to requirements for specified tests or procedures.
- Verify patient or donor identity to ensure proper labeling of the collected sample.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information.
- Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary and safe work areas.
- Properly store and transport samples to the lab.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education programs.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- Current phlebotomy certification.
- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience (preferred).
- Excellent patient service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress effectively.
- Basic computer skills for data entry purposes.
