Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance. This role is essential for ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with the maintenance team to perform various tasks that support the upkeep of residential and commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
- Conduct inspections of facilities to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in the supervision of maintenance projects and coordinate with external contractors as needed.
- Utilize tools such as an Ohmmeter to diagnose electrical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Execute residential painting tasks to enhance the appearance of properties.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant concerns and requests promptly.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand complex systems and layouts.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English for effective communication with team members and clients.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Experience in welding is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with residential painting techniques and materials.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients and tenants.
- Ability to supervise small teams or projects when necessary.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
