What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Preventionist/ Infection Control Nurse RN position at Harborview Satilla?
Infection Preventionist Job Duties:
- The Infection Preventionist must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess resident status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement resident care plans to enhance and improve outcomes. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- The Infection Preventionist should have excellent assessment and clinical skills
- The Infection Preventionist administers and documents Resident immunizations
- The Infection Preventionist monitors, documents and reports on antibiotic use
- The Infection Preventionist monitors, documents and reports on Bowel & Bladder program
- The Infection Preventionist makes rounds to ensure compliance with Infection Control standards and policies.
- The Infection Preventionist participates in Quarterly QAPI meetings
- The Infection Preventionist will take call or work in-house one weekend per schedule
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal working knowledge; Infection Control experience Preferred
- Licensed Registered Nurse; Basic computer skills, IV Pump, Feeding Pump, Specialty Bed Operation
- Prior experience as LTC RN preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of State Approved RN program and current RN license
- Must complete Infection Preventionist course within 3 months of hire
- Salary based on experience/education
