Our mission is to create a nurturing environment for children to thrive and empower families through education, support, and resources. Services include parental training, safe spaces for children, guidance on diet and its effects, and a 24/7 support line.
As a volunteer board member of Harbour Youth Alliance, you will play a vital role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring its mission is fulfilled, and supporting its operational and financial health. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for individuals passionate about helping neurodiverse families and building inclusive communities.
- Strategic Oversight:Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the organization’s effectiveness, financial health, and programs.
- Fundraising and Advocacy:Actively participate in fundraising activities, including donor engagement and event planning.
- Advocate for the organization within personal and professional networks.
- Governance:Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including bylaws and nonprofit regulations.
- Attend and participate in quarterly board meetings and special meetings as needed.
- Support and Guidance:Provide expertise in areas such as finance, marketing, HR, legal, or nonprofit management.
- Act as a mentor and advisor to the executive leadership team.
- Community Engagement:Help promote Harbour Youth Alliance through events, partnerships, and public relations efforts.
- Foster connections with community leaders and like-minded organizations.
- Passion for supporting neurodiverse families and creating inclusive communities.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: nonprofit leadership, finance, legal, fundraising, community engagement, or strategic planning.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
- Ability to dedicate 5-10 hours per month to board activities.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive board culture.
- Prior nonprofit board or committee service.
- Familiarity with neurodiversity advocacy, family support services, or similar fields.
- Serve a renewable 2-year term (flexible depending on organization needs).
