This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

The primary function of the Senior Business Analyst for the Workday Financials Product and Platform team is to provide strong contributions for the finance transformation program, serving as the lead business analyst working closely with internal and external business and technology stakeholders to plan and deliver the solution. The Sr. Business Analyst collaborates closely with the business community and the technical community working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design from which applications and solutions are developed.

This Senior Business Analyst role will contribute to the development, implementation and ongoing support for a Workday Financials Product and Platform team within the IT organization. HarbourVest is transitioning our Corporate Accounting and related financial systems from a Microsoft Great Plains general ledger platform to Workday Financials. This role will contribute to a multi-year finance transformation program that will update our business processes and the supporting technology solutions to enable our organizational growth goals and objectives.

What you will do :

Contribute to product roadmap development and delivery to achieve strategic business objectives.

Engage business and technology partners to define and document requirements, features or user stories, while proactively identifying and mitigating related dependencies or risks.

Provides input and feedback relating to solutions alternatives and prioritization to support delivering the highest business value.

Coordinates with teammates to iterate on feature development, testing and readiness.

Develops test plans and supports testing to ensure the technical development enables the business needs.

Drive effective business use by assisting in the day-to-day platform support, including the management of system upgrades, releases, and change control processes.

Proactively seeks out challenges to identify and resolve potential issues with new development or ongoing operational support.

Identifies and implements efficiencies to optimize capabilities.

Conduct or facilitate training and information sharing sessions with supporting documentation or reference material for employees and team members as needed.

Additional responsibilities related to the role as required.

What you bring :

Proven capabilities and experience in three or more of the following areas : Applications Development, Business Process and Workflow Management, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, and Systems Support.

Background in Financial Services and / or financial applications; including experience with transactional systems.

Experience with Agile software development, traditional project management, and Six Sigma methodologies and techniques.

Successful results with large or sophisticated projects and processes from initiation through implementation.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience translating business and technical concepts or decisions with diverse audiences.

Strengths with analytical, data, problem solving and collaboration skills.

Attention to detail and quality to fulfill responsibilities.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, process / workflow and collaboration tools.

Education Preferred

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or Science (B.S), or equivalent experience

Experience

3-8 years or more, in Financial Services preferred

Knowledge and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning platforms and Corporate Accounting business functions required, Workday experience beneficial
