We are seeking a dedicated and experienced volunteer coordinator for a management level position with our nonprofit agency. HARCATUS is an EEO employer and service provider serving the areas of Tuscarawas, Carroll and Harrison Counties in Ohio. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact through volunteer management for HARCATUS and our community partners. This full-time paid position offers a full benefit package and is responsible for the day to day operations of our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) as well as functioning as a part of our Community Initiatives Team.

Qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
  • One-year experience working with older adults and volunteers preferred.
  • Supervisory and project management skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel, and able to quickly learn specialized program software.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid Ohio drivers' license and maintain satisfactory driving record sufficient to meet Agency liability insurance carrier requirements.
  • Must maintain acceptable personal auto, bodily injury and property damage insurance sufficient to meet Agency liability insurance carrier requirements.
  • Must demonstrate tolerance, respect for diversity and be nonjudgmental to Agency customers and the customers of volunteer stations and community partners.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must successfully pass criminal records and registry checks and going forward as required by Agency policy and in accordance with Program regulations.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assessing volunteer needs of the community and planning and developing all phases of project operation.
  • Daily management of the RSVP project in accordance with federal regulation and grantor requirements.
  • Recruiting, orienting, and placing eligible volunteers with a focus on any Grant priorities.
  • Providing information and support to RSVP volunteers and volunteer stations.
  • Work with supervisors at volunteer stations in orientation and training activities for eligible volunteers as well as for staff at the volunteer stations.
  • Making periodic visits to monitor sites over a three county area and satisfaction of RSVP volunteers. Assessing the appropriateness and performance of volunteer stations.
  • Incorporate performance measurement principles and practices in program development, volunteer placement, and project assessment.
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring project budget.
  • Responsible for purchasing, assuring expenditures are in compliance with federal regulation, agency policy and within budgetary limitations.
  • Maintaining appropriate fiscal and project records and preparing program and financial reports.
  • Preparing and submitting funding applications and request for amendments under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with all agencies that have functions or programs that might be relevant to RSVP.
  • Provide leadership in selection and development of an RSVP Advisory Council in accordance with regulation.
  • Build public awareness of the program within the communities served.
  • Plan and supervise special events in recognition of the services provided by RSVP volunteers.
  • Responsible for securing sufficient non-federal support for the project under the oversight of CFO and Executive Director.
  • Establish and maintain good communication and working relationships with Grantor staff.
  • Attend relevant conferences, meetings, workshops, etc., as per agency policies and procedures, program regulation and budgetary limitations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $41,500.00 per year
