Summary:
At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated IBC Tech/Rail Worker professional to join our team to assist with opportunities. Reporting to the IBC Specialist this role will collaborate with various departments, including Chemical Workers and Rail Workers, while also providing support to the IBC Specialist.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Perform cleaning and pressure washing of IBCs.
- Replace valves and components as needed.
- Conduct pressure tests on IBCs to ensure compliance with DOT standards.
- Document test results and update records for each individual IBC.
- Collaborate closely with IBC Specialist to maintain IBCs.
- Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved.
- Operates tractor or forklift equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and rail cars.
- Loads and unloads tank trucks and railcars.
- Fills drums, totes, tankers, railcars, and pails, ensuring proper mixing, blending, and packaging of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals in compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
- Transports materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Operates industrial vehicles (tractors or forklift) to assist in material handling.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Job duties may also result in:
- Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
- Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site’s emergency action or contingency plan.
- Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience with IBCs & chemicals preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- CRM experience preferred.
- And/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Capabilities & Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or tools, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and up to 75 to 100 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to hazardous fumes or odors.
- Noise level is moderate to loud.
- Will frequently work in outdoor weather conditions.
