Summary:
At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Truck Driver professional to join our team to assist with opportunities. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will drive gasoline or diesel power trucks to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Drive trucks to transport products to designated locations.
- Read and interpret customer orders, shipping papers, and purchase orders to plan deliveries or pickups.
- Inspect truck before and after trips, documenting any defects and ensuring truck condition.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on truck equipment, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and complete required paperwork, such as bills of lading, waybills, and trip reports.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company SOPs, including safe equipment operation and record-keeping.
- Assist with loading and unloading of products and containers.
- Verify the accuracy of products, volumes, and paperwork during pickup and delivery.
- Perform warehouse maintenance and housekeeping tasks when not driving.
- Operate a forklift if needed and manage product returns, ensuring compliance with DOT requirements.
- When not driving, responsibilities may include drumming product, warehouse maintenance and housekeeping.
- Ensure all shipments are secured according to DOT standards.
- Meet customer requirements for deliveries, including proper labeling and documentation.
- Utilize company-provided equipment, such as cell phones and ERP software, in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
- Job duties may also result in:
- Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
- Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site’s emergency action or contingency plan.
- Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 years of related experience and/or training.
- And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications:
- Commercial driver's license (all classes) required.
- Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement or ability to obtain certification.
- Forklift Operation experience preferred.

Physical Capabilities & Requirements:
- Physical requirements include lifting and moving various weights up to 100 pounds.
- Physical requirements will also include standing or sitting for long periods of time.
- Visual abilities including close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
- Work environment includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions and mechanical equipment.
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and noise.
- Occasionally work at elevated, precarious heights and could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic or caustic chemicals.
