What is the position?
We are looking for a Director, Financial Reporting to join our accounting team who will be responsible for preparing periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting guidance, and providing accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders and auditors, including but not limited to :
- Prepare full financial statements for multiple entities in conjunction with the VP Accounting.
- Ensure internal control compliance over accounting policy and reporting.
- Finalizing notes and disclosures according to GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Performing technical accounting research and documenting positions in accounting memos.
- Areas of focus include consolidation, fair value, stock-based compensation, acquisition accounting, non-controlling interests, revenue recognition, warrants, and segment reporting.
- Administration and maintenance of the Workiva financial reporting system.
- Effectively collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as human resources, FP&A, tax, legal, financial systems, internal control, business partners, and technical program management.
- Monitoring emerging accounting guidance from standard setters to understand the implications of such guidance on HRD’s existing accounting, reporting, and financial systems functions.
- Ensuring that new accounting processes and procedures necessary for such adoption are put into place in NetSuite and that they contain the appropriate level of internal controls.
- Working with external auditors to gain concurrence on HRD’s accounting conclusions.
- Coordinating the annual external audit of financial statements and internal controls.
- Monitoring industry peers for emerging trends related to financial reporting matters.
- Preparing or supervising the preparation of accounting policies and educating the accounting team.
- Responding to ad hoc financial information requests and analyses as assigned.
