Responsible for the seasonal upkeep of exterior grounds and maintaining the hardscape of the property.

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through A High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial supervisory experience. An Associate’s Degree preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
- Clean, maintain and remove trash from parking lot and entrances.
- Power wash exterior surfaces.
- Monitor irrigation systems and outdoor lighting.
- Assists in the maintenance and watering of flower beds, plant areas, planters, and hanging baskets.
- Operates Mule and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
- Maintains building and grounds appearance to company standards.
- Knowledge of cleaning supply usage (mixing the right chemicals for the job and the usage of MSDS).
- Performs cleaning assignments as directed by crew leader.
- Communicates with crew leader regarding concerns problems/difficulty with assigned duties or equipment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Attend seminars when needed.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through A High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial supervisory experience. An Associate’s Degree preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must successfully pass drug screening.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
- Drivers of company vehicles must have a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements/standards listed on the Motor Vehicle Permit Application provided by Hard Rock.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Machines and equipment including but not limited to, basic hand and power tools, gardening and mowing equipment, spray equipment, etc.
- Safe use of hazardous materials.
- General landscape products.
ABILITY TO:
- Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.
- Use tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape work.
- Operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
