Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers/Companions to provide essential support and companionship to individuals in need. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, seniors, or those requiring long-term or hospice care. As a Caregiver/Companion, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of those you assist.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist the client with ambulation to ensure safety, stability, and confidence while walking.
- Assist clients with daily living activities and mobility support.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Monitor and document vital signs as necessary.
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with adherence to prescribed health plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Provide emotional support to clients and their families during challenging times.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including hospice care principles.
- Certification in CPR is a plus.
- Ability to assist individuals with disabilities effectively and compassionately.
- Proficient in monitoring vital signs and understanding basic health indicators.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role.
- Previous caregiving experience is highly valued.
