Maintenance Technician (Grounds and Roads)

Description

Performs daily operation, maintenance and repair activities of outdoor public areas including rights-of-way, easements, and other City owned properties. All work will be performed in compliance with EPA and OSHA safety rules and regulations. Perform all other duties deemed necessary by the Public Works Director/City Engineer

Examples of Duties

• Completes daily functions assigned by Division Manager and/or Crew Leader.
• Works as part of a maintenance crew/team and performs duties under direct supervision and guidance.
• Operates and performs daily scheduled preventative maintenance on department’s light equipment and vehicles including mowers, weed-eaters, trimmers, etc., used to maintain City grounds and public areas.
• Performs construction and maintenance tasks related to streets, fences, benches, drinking fountains, sidewalks, gutters, and storm drains.
• Assists in cleaning of ditches and culverts, removal of trash and litter from roads and ditches and other public areas.

Typical Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Six (6) months of related experience and/or training.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Combination of education, training, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

Realiza actividades diarias de operación, mantenimiento y reparación de áreas públicas al aire libre, incluyendo derechos de paso, servidumbres y otras propiedades propiedad de la Ciudad. Todo el trabajo se realizará de acuerdo con las reglas y regulaciones de seguridad de la EPA y la OSHA. Realiza todas las demás tareas que el Director de Obras Públicas/Ingeniero de la Ciudad considere necesarias.
