Our client, a private equity-backed manufacturing and design interiors company is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy and operations of the business This role is ideal for an individual with strong leadership skills, extensive financial acumen, and a deep understanding of private equity-backed environments. As the Interim CFO, you will play a key role in supporting the company's financial stability, driving growth, and assisting with strategic planning during this critical period.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the company’s financial functions.
- Collaborate with the executive team and private equity stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives.
- Ensure robust financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support operational needs and growth goals.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, private equity reporting requirements, and company policies.
- Drive accurate and timely reporting of key financial metrics to both internal and external stakeholders.
Cash Flow & Liquidity Management:
- Manage the company's cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations and strategic investments.
- Evaluate working capital requirements and implement strategies to optimize cash flow.
Operational Finance Support:
- Work closely with operations and other department heads to provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency and profitability.
- Lead cost management and identify opportunities for margin improvement across the business.
Private Equity Liaison:
- Act as the primary point of contact for private equity investors, providing financial insights and updates.
- Assist in navigating any financial challenges or opportunities in collaboration with the private equity firm.
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through robust controls, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the company’s internal audit functions to ensure compliance and reduce financial risks.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, MBA, or similar advanced qualifications preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role, preferably in a private equity-backed company.
- Experience in the marine, manufacturing, or related industries is highly desirable.
- Strong track record of managing financial operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (experience with systems used in manufacturing or marine interiors industries a plus).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to drive strategic financial decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
