Job Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager for a 3.5 MW solar farm project. The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role will involve inspecting materials, overseeing installation processes, and maintaining documentation to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance & Control:
- Develop and implement the QA/QC plan for the project.
- Conduct inspections of materials, equipment, and installations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, NEC codes, and industry standards.
- Oversee electrical, mechanical, and civil quality checks for the solar farm.
Site Inspections & Testing:
- Perform visual inspections, electrical testing, torque verification, and commissioning inspections.
- Ensure proper installation of modules, racking, inverters, transformers, and cabling.
- Work with third-party inspectors and testing agencies as needed.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain detailed QA/QC records, punch lists, and corrective action reports.
- Verify adherence to OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
Defect Identification & Resolution:
- Identify, document, and resolve non-conformance issues (NCRs).
- Work with subcontractors and vendors to address quality concerns.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Coordination & Reporting:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and Engineering team to address quality issues.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide QA/QC updates.
- Prepare final quality documentation and turnover packages for project completion.
Qualifications & Experience: Experience:
- 3 years in QA/QC roles within solar construction, electrical, or renewable energy projects.
- Experience with utility-scale solar (1-10 MW). Larger project experience is also acceptable.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30, NABCEP, ASQ, or AWS CWI certification is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in QA/QC software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes, IBC, ASTM, and UL standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a field-based environment.
