What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Plasma Cutter Specialist position at Hardhat Workforce Solutions?
Overview
HardHat is currently seeking an in-shop plasma cutter working within a medium sized structural steel, design and fabrication shop in the Sanford area. This individual should have prior CNC and torch plasma cutting experience cutting shapes and larger components including beams from structural steel based upon rendered drawings.
Ideally, our candidate will have a decent driving history and basic computer knowledge in order to create and print off shipping tickets for items fabricated. This individual should also have a sharp eye when it comes to quality, which will also involve QC inspections of the finished product prior to shipment or delivery.
Responsibilities
- Operate cutting machines such as CNC, lathes, and stamping presses to produce parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand the dimensions and tolerances required for each project.
- Utilize measurement tools including calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy in cuts and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections on finished products to verify adherence to specifications and identify any defects.
- Perform routine maintenance on cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to machinery or production processes.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
Experience
- Proven experience operating cutting machinery such as CNC, lathe, or stamping press is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of electrical discharge machining is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality inspection techniques and tools including calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to read blueprints effectively is essential for this role.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
