Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. The EMT will provide critical pre-hospital care to patients in emergency situations, ensuring their safety and well-being during transport. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong assessment skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support and critical care as needed, including CPR and oxygen therapy.
- Triage patients based on severity of condition to prioritize treatment effectively.
- Provide medication administration as directed by medical protocols, including experience administering injections.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care provided.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals during patient transport and handoff.
- Utilize medical terminology accurately in all documentation and communication.
- Assist in critical care transport when necessary, ensuring the highest level of patient care throughout the process.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in accordance with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medicine principles and practices.
- Experience in patient care, including assessment and triage skills.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Ability to perform under pressure in high-stress environments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and medical personnel.
- Understanding of medical terminology relevant to emergency care.
- Previous experience in critical care transport is a plus but not required.
