The Hardin County has an opening for a full-time Environmental Health Specialist. The purpose of this position is to issue & inspect well construction, septic system construction, water testing, well plugging, and other duties related to protecting the environmental health of Hardin County. This position will also serve as the Zoning Administrator for Hardin County which involves issuing & enforcing construction permits as it relates to the Hardin County Zoning Ordinance. This position will require initiation and attendance of 1-3 nightly meetings per month. Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED; have a minimum of 2-4 years related on-the-job experience in an office support role, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Salary for this position will be in the range of $50,000 - $75,000 per year, dependent upon qualifications.
