Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual
- Meet state requirements for Aide Certification
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to manage student behavior
- Demonstrate flexibility and effective self-management skills
- Subject to assignment grades Pre-K through 12
- Professional dress required.
- Prompt attendance required.
- Satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug test
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the aide will promote and nurture the education of students by providing instruction, encouraging student progress and managing the learning environment.
- Be able to shift assignments quickly and seamlessly
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom environment
- Maintain a positive and supportive work environment with students and staff
- Assist students in the classroom setting
- Maintain required paperwork to document student progress and needs
- Work with individual and groups of students
- Assist with new comers who do not have mastery of the English Language
- Support students with disabilities/learning differences
