Education and Experience:
High school diploma required; completion of a two-year radiology program with an associate's degree preferred. Current certification as a radiologic technologist is essential, as is current BLS/CPR certification.

- Maintain and use equipment necessary to produce diagnostic images of patients
- Position patients on examining tables and adjust equipment to obtain optimal views of specific body areas
- Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
- Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
