Position Overview: We currently have an opening for the position of Coating Technician. This career-worthy opportunity offers a chance to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. This is a swing shift position.
Qualifications:
- Ability to apply advanced math and science skills.
- Background in physics and chemistry is helpful, but not required.
- Eagerness to learn how to interpret metrology equipment.

What you will Learn:
- Setup, run, and maintain the Thin Film Coating process.
- Follow detailed exacting procedures, participate in writing procedures, and develop documentation systems.
- Keep detailed lab notebook, update notebook daily, and properly record experimental data.
- Proactively observe and report anomalous system behaviors.
- Good Hands-on skills to perform mechanical assembly and disassembly.
- Clean parts by hand and by spin cleaning.
- Perform parts inspection.
- Perform a variety of routine optical component operations.
- Perform routine mechanical and electronic adjustments and alignments to appropriate machinery.
- Understand and follow target specifications and tolerances.
Training Opportunity: We offer a comprehensive training program for all new hires. During the training period, which includes dayshift training, the pay rate is $20 per hour. Upon completion of the day shift training program, the pay rate $20 per hour with a $3 an hour differential for the evening shift.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm (Day shift training). Starting pay: $20 per hour.
- Monday to Thursday, 2:30 pm to 12:30 am. Starting pay: $23 per hour following completion of dayshift training program with differential applied.
***This position is a Swing Shift position. The position will start on day shift training for approximately 2-3 months and then move to the swing shift.
