SUMMARY / SCOPE : AdjunctFaculty in the Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program will coordinate andteach an online, 3-hour course on a variety of topics that will be assignedprior to the start of the course. Instruction will be continuous for threesemesters per academic year. Dutiesinclude creating and delivering educational content, departmental grading, andremediation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsibilities include course development, instruction,management, creating and grading student assignments in a timely manner, andall correspondence with students enrolled in the course using course managementsoftware. Other duties as assigned bythe DMSc program director.
Demonstrate a high level of engagement with students throughresponses to emails and delivering feedback to students through communicationabout assignments, discussion boards, interactive instructional tools, recordedvideos, and virtual office hours.
Maintain accurate records and documents, including syllabi,learning objectives, grading rubrics, grades, faculty course evaluation asrequested, and virtual office hours.
Completion of required training for online adjunct faculty, timelycommunication with administration and students, and attending DMSc departmentalmeetings virtually as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
PhysicianAssistant applicants holding a Master of Physician Assistant Studies andDoctoral Degree (DHSc, DMSc, Ph.D., etc.) are preferred. Clinicians with a doctoral-level degree willbe considered. Candidates with previous online teaching,classroom teaching, and / or guest lecture / precepting experience as a PA are preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Current NCCPA certification ispreferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Thejob is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods oftime while performing office and computer operations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
Thisposition is a part-time / temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)with online teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.
