SUMMARY / SCOPE :
We are looking for a part-time, adjunct faculty member to provide instruction for musiccourses to undergraduate students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Teach an undergraduate course in the School of Music.
Demonstrate effective teachingstrategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as wellas assessment.
Maintain accurate records anddocuments, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students.
Records / documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.
QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
A master's degree (preferablybut not necessarily in music) is required, with at least 18 graduate creditscompleted in music. Teaching experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Thejob is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods oftime while performing office and computer operations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
Thisposition is a part-time / temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons Universityin Abilene, Texas.
Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
