SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The dean provides leadership for the academic programs in the College of Health Professions and supervises 25 full-time faculty and a similar number of adjuncts. The College offers bachelor’s degrees in Communication Sciences & Disorders, Exercise Science, Fitness Recreation & Sports Management, Nursing, and Physical Education. It offers six graduate degrees: the Doctor of Physical Therapy, the Master of Physician Assistant Studies, the Master of Science in Kinesiology, Sport & Recreation, the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, the online Master of Athletic Training, and the Doctor of Medical Science, scheduled to begin in Spring 2025. Leadership is needed in the form of planning, development, and implementation of all academic programs within the College. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and to be able to work closely with other deans and university administrators. The dean is responsible for the preparation of comprehensive annual reports for the HSU Board of Trustees and accrediting agencies. The dean will work with foundations, organizations, and donors of the College to promote growth of endowment and support. Active participation in state and national professional organizations is encouraged.
