Middle School English Teacher (Grade 8)

Harding Academy is seeking an experienced Middle School English Teacher for Grade 8. We invite those interested in serving our students and faculty in this role to complete this application. This is a full-time position offering benefits. The primary teaching responsibilities of the Grade 8 Middle School English Teacher include delivery of the Harding Academy language arts curriculum and serving as a grade level advisor with all of its duties.

Daily Responsibilities

• Be on campus and in your assigned classroom from 7:30am – 3:30pm, or as requested
• Dress professionally
• Submit attendance daily
• Work with an average class size of 18 students ( /- 2)
• Read expectations about student behavior and discipline and follow the School procedures and guidelines
• Help with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree in subject area

          Ability to clear a Background Screening as well as a Drug Screening, if requested

Preferred: Past teaching experience working with school-aged children

          Master’s and minimum three years’ experience in an instructional role

          Current teacher certification in the State of Tennessee, or transferable
