We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Reading Interventionist with a reading specialist certification to provide targeted literacy interventions for students. This role includes assessing student needs, developing and implementing individualized reading interventions, collaborating with educators and families, and ensuring compliance with special education requirements to support student growth and achievement.
Assessment & Student Support
- Conduct literacy assessments to determine students’ strengths, needs, and appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized reading interventions aligned with students’ IEP goals.
- Monitor student progress using data-driven methods and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Provide direct reading instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
- Work closely with general education teachers to support inclusive instructional practices.
- Collaborate with special education staff, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated student support.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise in literacy development and intervention strategies.
- Design and deliver differentiated reading instruction using research-based intervention programs. .
- Utilize structured literacy approaches to support students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia.
- Integrate assistive technology and multi-sensory strategies to enhance student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state special education laws, including proper implementation of accommodations and modifications.
- Document services provided and contribute to data collection for IEPs and progress reports.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in reading interventions and special education.
- Provide training and coaching to teachers on effective literacy strategies for students with disabilities.
- Serve as a resource for implementing structured literacy approaches across the school.
Salary : $44,021 - $70,000
