JOB TITLE: Pavement Maintenance Operator/Laborer
LOCATION: Billings, MT
STATUS: Hourly/non-exempt
Job Description: The paving and pavement maintenance operator/laborer will perform tasks involving physical labor at parking lots, airports, and roadways by operating one or more different types of pavement maintenance equipment. This position may also require routine repair and maintenance of equipment in addition to other laborer duties.
Pavement Maintenance Crew Laborer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use of vacuum truck, push blower and/or wire broom to clean surface prior to application of seal coat or crack fill material.
- Preparation of surface utilizing an asphalt crack router to open surface cracks prior to filling.
- Application of crack fill material utilizing a crack seal kettle and a wand.
- Application of seal coat material utilizing a long handled squeegee and/or spray wand.
- Manual labor including shoveling, brooming and raking.
- Occasional equipment operation; including a skid steer or highway broom
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification/Requirement
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
- Class A CDL a plus.
- Must be able to push a 200-250 lb. router for 10 hours a day.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
- Must have strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
