About the Job
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our team and play a key role in our continued growth. This is a dedicated sales role requiring proactive customer engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing an assigned territory while meeting and exceeding sales goals across three sales channels. Success in this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong sales skills, and a results-driven attitude. The ideal candidate will be based in the Sacramento, CA area. The territory covers the eastern half of Northern California, from I-680 east to Reno, south to Fresno, and north to the California border.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent and promote Hardware Resources brands and the value we provide across manufacturing, retail, and showroom channels.
- Develop and execute action plans to identify and pursue targeted prospects in the assigned territory.
- Effectively present company products to existing and new customers through meetings, demonstrations, and consultations.
- Negotiate pricing, balancing customer value with company profitability.
- Expand market share and outperform competitors through strategic sales initiatives.
- Participate in incentive programs focused on sales growth and new product introductions.
- Take ownership and accountability for the success of the assigned territory.
- Travel overnight up to 75% of the time (approximately 2-3 nights per week) to fully cover the territory.
- Approach each day with an entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to achieving personal financial goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven professional sales skills with a strong understanding of the sales process.
- Strong communication and relationship management abilities, with the capacity to engage multiple levels and functions within customer organizations.
- Excellent negotiation skills focused on maintaining strong margins and long-term customer relationships.
- Strong collaboration and coordination skills, particularly in working effectively with an inside sales partner.
- Self-motivated with a high level of drive and an entrepreneurial approach to sales.
- Basic business acumen to analyze and discuss customer operations.
- Proficiency in using proprietary CRM tools within the sales process.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of the construction cycle and hardware industry (preferred).
Education & Experience:
- Industry experience in cabinet or cabinet hardware sales is preferred.
- Prior experience in Kitchen & Bath design or construction, B2B industrial or building supply sales.
- Strong sales and closing skills, with problem-solving capabilities and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 Suite and Teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; applicable industry experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Experience in sales and territory management.

Preferred Experience:
