Are you a green thumb with leadership skills? We're seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to join our team at Hardy Trees & Nursery
In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of our nursery, ensuring a thriving environment for a diverse range of plant life. You'll lead a dedicated team, cultivate a positive work environment, and contribute to the overall success of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of nursery operations, including plant production, inventory control, and plant health.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of nursery facilities, including greenhouses, shade houses, and outdoor growing areas.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
- Lead a team of nursery staff, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and best practices in horticulture.
- Stay informed about current trends and innovations in the nursery industry.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the nursery budget.
- Assist customers with plant selection, providing expert advice on care and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in nursery management or a related field (preferred)
- Proven knowledge of plant propagation, cultivation techniques, and pest identification.
- Strong understanding of horticultural principles and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage staff, delegate tasks, and create a positive work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with nursery software a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
