Nature of Work
Under general supervision, provides assistance, technical guidance, and support services to County departments and agencies related to desktop computing systems. Employees in this class will utilize our Service Now Service Desk ticketing system to provide Tier 1 technical support to both internal and remote users. Daily Support Services include logging and resolving desktop computer related issues involving applications, hardware, software, operating system, network connectivity and cyber security.

- Provide Tier 1 Support for desktops, laptops, desktop phones, cell phones, printers, and mobile devices.
- Responsible for the staging, imaging, and deployment of new desktop / laptop computers and migration of user data.
- Install and configure peripheral devices.
- Investigate and resolve desktop hardware, software, printing and network connectivity issues.
- Ensure required software and security updates and patches are applied in a timely manner.
- Set up VPN and Remote Access Solutions.
- Perform miscellaneous technical and administrative tasks in support of LAN and PC environment.
- Responsible for IT inventory and asset management.
- Develops and maintains knowledgebase articles to document resolutions related to Help Desk support tickets.
- Ensure that incidents and requests are entered and serviced in a timely manner.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and cable management; patch management, and testing of new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees, as well as coordinating with other departments to improve our security posture and overall employee experience.
- Answer technical calls and provide phone or remote support.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Possession of a high school diploma, GED Certificate, or (1) year certificate in IT related field supplemented by some college level courses, workshops, or seminars. One to three (1-3) years of experience providing support in a LAN / WAN environment.
Two (2) years of college in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or IT related field.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) experience is not required but is preferred.
LICENSE :
A valid Class "C" non-commercial driver's license with no more than three (3) points may be required for some positions in this class. SAFETY :
