VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
SPECIAL EDUCATION EVALUATOR – 11 MONTH
Location to be determined - Internal Candidates Only
To be involved in the identification of students with educational disabilities through the Individual Education Program (IEP) team process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

These items are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed. Performs student assessments to assist in the documentation of educational disabilities and the identification of special education needs. Attends school-based IEP team meetings when students are being approved for educational assessments. Completes initial education assessments on students referred by IEP teams; reports assessment findings to the committees. When referred by IEP teams, completes re-evaluations for students receiving special education. Maintains a list of students in need of re-evaluation. Provides recommendations for general education and special education. Assists school IEP teams in the completion of Specific Learning Disability (SLD) documentation. Attends Central Office IEP team meetings when requested by the committee chairperson. Assists with the transfer of students with disabilities and their special education records within the evaluators’ assigned schools. Provides clarification of special education policies and procedures to school personnel. Conducts training in special education policies and procedures for school-based staff. Provides services during the summer months, as required. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. |

SALARY |
Starting salary for Bachelor’s degree with APC and three years teaching experience. ($59,310) May increase with additional education and experience. |

REQUIREMENTS
|
Hold or be eligible for an Advanced Professional Certificate endorsed in special education. Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience. Knowledgeable of educational assessments and special education procedures. Excellent written and oral communication skills. |
