Job Summary:
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will play a vital role in our operations by delivering technical services for a range of electrical and instrumentation assignments. You will utilize both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to troubleshoot and maintain essential equipment, all while working under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and professionally removing, installing, cleaning, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various electrical and instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, transducers, meters, relays, switches, and control systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation issues, working on equipment such as switchgears, control panels, control valves, transformers, motor starters, and UPS systems.
- Operating industrial equipment, including forklifts and man lifts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintaining pneumatic and motor-operated valves and actuators.
- Reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, piping, and instrumentation diagrams to enhance workflow and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of plant equipment, particularly transmitters and control valves.
- Familiarity with motor controls and lighting circuits.
- Working knowledge of voltages up to 600V.
- An understanding of environmental regulations to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Awareness of electrical arc flash and shock hazards (NFPA 70E) with the ability to select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying loads over 25 lbs.
- Proficient in using hands and arms for handling, installing, and positioning materials and equipment.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and performing tasks at elevated heights while utilizing safety harnesses.
- Able to navigate multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment.
- Willingness to work outdoors or in process units in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces for extended durations while wearing necessary personal protective equipment.
