The BackLot Assistant Manager’s primary responsibility is to assist the rest of the management team with the overall operation of the building. The assistant manager is an integral part of the success of the BackLot by performing the day-to-day functions of the assigned department while supervising members of the team.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills that positively influence all levels of the team.
  • Represent Harkins’ culture when communicating with guests in any way and respond to guest concerns and/or inquiries within Harkins’ standards.
  • Lead every shift with passion and drive to create an efficient, productive work environment while adhering to Harkins’ guidelines.
  • Run high volume service periods from the floor and be involved with day-to-day operations for the area assigned for the day to ensure food quality, service, and operations meet Harkins’ standards. These areas include arcade, bowling, dining, kitchen, redemption, parties, private events, etc.
  • Perform precise line checks and facility walks with proper follow up and documentation and participate with all Health inspections.
  • Maintain the safety, security, cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of the BackLot, and promptly identify and elevate issues as needed to ensure company standards are realized.
  • Manage all employees in accordance with Harkins’ policies and procedures to maintain a smooth, fun, and exciting environment.
  • Conduct effective huddles, and assign/direct work to ensure proper service levels each shift.
  • Oversee guest services to ensure that all guests receive the ultimate entertainment experience.
  • Stay up to date and knowledgeable on the BackLot brand and offerings.
  • Adjust the TV screens throughout the facility according to the schedule provided by the Senior Manager overseeing the dining and bar operations.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all company policies/procedures and ensuring that all members of the team do the same.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Required to be at least 19 years of age.
  • Required to obtain and maintain a current food handler’s card and/or food safety certification, and complete Responsible Service Training, (AZ Title 4 Liquor – Basic and Management).
  • 1 year of management experience preferred. FEC or restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace and possess basic math skills, be fiscally responsible, and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, loud environment, with multiple flashing lights, while in a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of remaining calm and using good judgment and discretion in all situations.
  • A professional image with an increased attention to detail, well organized, excellent guest service skills, and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
