Description : SUMMARY :
This position is primarily responsible for distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within the Production Department, ensuring that all material needs are identified, pulled, and ready for install during the production process. This position shall be accomplished by performing the following duties :
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Readies parts, materials, and hardware so that it is readily available for assembly personnel.
- Identifies and reports material shortages through appropriate channels in a timely manner.
- Reviews and understands bill of materials (BOM) so that there is a clear understanding of material needs for each tractor produced.
- Coordinates, communicates, and works closely with assemblers, planners, and Production manager to understand day-to-day needs.
- Owns the back warehouse, maintaining it in a neat, orderly, and efficient manner.
- Maintains and manages the Back Warehouse inventory to ensure that material stock levels are continually appropriate to maintain production efficiency.
- Develops understanding of the processes and requirements for each assembly station and sub-department within Production in order to best service each of their unique needs.
- Works in a proactive manner to address the needs of the assembly line so that issues are resolved prior to the assembly line beginning a new production process.
- Marks materials with identifying information for easy and efficient use in the production process.
- Open bales, crates and other containers while ensuring the back warehouse remains stocked with required materials.
- Records amounts of materials or items distributed within the Production Department to maintain proper accounting of materials used and stocked.
- Operates vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Forklift experience a plus
- Scanner experience a must
- Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
