Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Assist with medication administration as directed by veterinary staff.
- Perform animal restraint during examinations and treatments.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with team members.
- Support animal husbandry practices, ensuring proper handling and care of all animals.
- Assist with basic veterinary procedures, including animal catheterization when required.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to veterinary critical care.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or kennel is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with pet care practices and animal husbandry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures will be considered an asset.
- Experience with medication administration and animal restraint techniques is beneficial.
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
