About the job:
The General Manager, South Park is responsible for running day-to-day operations in the front of house and overseeing the back of house operations. This position demands a well experienced, detail oriented and driven individual committed to providing an outstanding experience to our customers. The General Manager will set the tone for customer service standards, work ethic and enthusiasm for all team members of Harland South Park.
Your day-to-day:
- Manage overall operations under the guidance and direction of the President
- Purchasing, inventory control, budgeting, maintaining costs, controlling labor, scheduling, safety and sanitation
- Hiring, training, and supervising all front of house staff
- Ensuring proper hiring, training and supervision of all back of house staff
- Accomplish human resources objectives by recruiting, selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining staff.
- Communicate job expectations and ensure done daily
- Ensuring excellence with customer service and culinary
- Meet financial objectives by developing analyzing variances, initiating corrective action and monitoring financial controls.
- Controlling purchases
- Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring and evaluating food/beverage/service offerings, initiating improvements and building relationships with patrons.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by following and enforcing health and safety standards.
- Ensuring customer service standards are met and upheld by all team members
- Comply with CA rest and meal break law and accurately record time in ADP
- Other tasks as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Food Handlers certification is required
- Food Handlers Management certification is required
- LEAD certification required
- 5 years of experience as an Restaurant manager
- Strong proven leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate a team
- Experience in high volume restaurants
- Must be available to work weekends, special events and holidays
- Ability to manage all front of house and back of house operations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Incredible time management skills
- Demonstrate a sense for business (budgeting, inventory, ordering etc)
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are a must
- Superior customer service skills and service driven
- Friendly, positive and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and team members
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, follow-up and work in a fast pace environment under pressure
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Enthusiasm for culinary arts and beer
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 60 lb. at varying frequencies
- Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to, lift trucks, hand trucks, dishwashers etc.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Able to work in a factory/production environment which may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot
- Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
