Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Assistant Director of Wealth Builds, Youth Opportunity Fund with our Wealth Builds department.
The Assistant Director of Wealth Builds, Youth Opportunity Fund will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Director within Wealth Builds to support the execution of a high-priority wealth-building initiative at HCZ. In this role, reporting to the Director of National Site Partnerships and working closely with leaders across the organization, the Assistant Director will engage in a broad range of critical activities aimed at significantly narrowing the wealth gap. This role interacts with a variety of teams across HCZ, constituents from the community, and external partners, and must be able to collaborate well and communicate effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a competitive four-year college or university

- Relevant professional experience in finance or investments
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative, manage competing priorities, and work independently
- Ability to learn quickly and respond to feedback
- Advanced proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of historical and contemporary racial equity issues, programs, policies, and structures that impact social and economic mobility
- Passion for and commitment to the mission of the Harlem Children’s Zone
What you’ll do
- Play a leading role in assisting the implementation, and management of investment accounts for youth with withdrawals permitted in adulthood for activities that catalyze wealth generation
- Create project plans for program rollout and track progress towards key milestones
- Facilitate meetings and collect updates from key stakeholders; prepare internal and external reports
- Support youth in reaching their economic goals by encouraging activities that catalyze wealth generation
- Execute strategy for family outreach and engagement in collaboration with relevant senior leaders across HCZ
- Organize socialization efforts for scholar, parents, and staff around the YOF program.
- Maintain communications, outreach toolkits, marketing materials, and program materials
- Support design and rollout of technology platform; manage enrollment process
- Perform other duties as required
