Job Description:
As a Materials Purchaser and Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of materials required for our fabrication projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials to meet production schedules and maintain our standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Material Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for materials such as MDF, acrylic, plywood and laminates. There are a lot of bespoke items that also need to be sourced effectively and in a timely manner.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.

Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed without overstocking.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control procedures to optimize storage and reduce waste.

Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all materials purchased meet the company's quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with the production team to address any material-related issues or concerns.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.

Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the production, design, and project management teams to understand material requirements and project timelines.
- Provide regular updates on material availability, delivery schedules, and potential delays.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and proper storage of materials.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing or retail display industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of materials used in retail display fabrication (MDF, acrylic, plywood, laminates, fabrics, etc) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
