What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation / Logistics Load Planner position at Harmac North America Logistics Inc.?
Harmac North America Logistics Inc. is seeking a Load Planner to join our team in Auburn Township, Ohio. (near Chagrin Falls). We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, possess strong analytical and computer skills and is detailed oriented. This is a fast paced environment, the candidate must be able to retain information and accomplish tasks independently. Strong customer service skills will play an important role in the success of this individual.
This position coordinates all processes involved in the load planning and movement function.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process customer orders, plan and tender to partner carriers
- Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information
- Provide detailed instructions to various carriers and associates by phone and email
- Communicate back to the customer by tracking load via phone calls and emails
- Handle rate negotiations with carriers and shippers on a spot rate basis
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery, estimating times of arrival and delivery
- Provide load exception investigation and reporting
- Weigh alternative financial decisions before taking action
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred
- Two years of experience in Transportation/ Supply Chain preferred / will train the right candidate looking to start a transportation career.

- Five or more years experience Microsoft Office. A champion of organizing emails, contacts, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Scheduled full time attendance is an important function of this job
- Willingness to submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, criminal history, and drug screening) required.
- Should live close to the office, traveling in the winter in Geauga County can be challenging.
