Summer Intern - AI Data Scientist

About The Role

At HARMAN, we believe in fostering talent and providing a platform for learning through practical exposure. We are currently offering an exciting internship opportunity in the field of AI Generative Audio for our new sound experience products. As an integral part of the audio team at AILAB, your primary role will be to contribute to the development and testing of cutting-edge audio technologies to create innovative sound experiences.

What You Will Do

• Actively participate in the design and development of AI-based generative audio systems, aiming to create unique, immersive, and high-quality sound experiences specifically for automotive products.
• Gain practical experience with technologies related to sound generation and manipulation, such as digital signal processing, sound synthesis, and generative audio algorithms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to construct and analyze custom audio datasets.
• Perform exploratory testing.
  
  

What You Need

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Freshman year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
• Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
• Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  
  

What Makes You Eligible

• Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan.
• Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
• Must provide full work availability from May 19, 2025 through August 8, 2025 and be able to work 40 hours per week

Pay Transparency

Freshman: $21.00

Sophomore: $23.00

Junior: $25.00

Senior: $27.00

Master: $32.00

Doct: $38.00

Dependent on the internship offered, pay is based on factors, including without limitation, the applicant's level of education and business need.
