WHAT TO EXPECT AS OUR SCRAP METAL TRANSPORTATION DISPATCHER
In this position, your primary responsibility is to coordinate our drivers and ensure efficient and timely deliveries. Using our online program, you route drivers throughout the day, communicating clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing. You review and process paperwork as well as assist scale clerks.
Additionally, you play a key role in evaluating incoming products, operating the scale, and directing customers to appropriate unloading areas. You feel great about providing excellent customer service and keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly!
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of dispatching experience
- Knowledge about logistics and the scrap metal recycling industry
- Clear understanding of all company policy, FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations
- Basic computer skills, knowledge of MS Office 365, and an ability to learn in-house systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
