The Client
Harmonic is excited to partner exclusively with an innovative, award-winning PR agency in their search for an Accounting Manager to join their dynamic finance team. Spanning across 10 countries, this agency is renowned for producing cutting-edge PR/marketing campaigns and creative content that drive results for major brands. With a proven track record of growth, the agency is on a trajectory to significantly expand in the next few years.
The Role
As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations within this fast-paced, creative environment. Reporting directly into the CFO, you will assist on data projects and manage a few analyst below you to drive financial performance, manage budgets, and streamline financial processes. This position is ideal for someone who wants to be mentored by a global CFO who not only has an incredible agency background but a great personality too!
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the agency's broader business goals. Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and manage quarterly forecasts to ensure financial goals are achieved. Adjust financial projections as necessary based on evolving business trends and developments.
- Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis. Provide senior executives with actionable insights to guide decision-making.
- Monitor and manage the agency's cash flow and working capital to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations and investments. Identify opportunities to improve cash flow efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards. Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Partner with various departments to uncover growth opportunities and identify cost-saving strategies. Provide financial analysis to support the business development team with new initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a growing finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Passion for Creativity: A deep interest in the creative sector and an understanding of how financial strategies impact campaign success.
- Strong Analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to both financial and non-financial teams.
- A growth-oriented mindset.
Bonus (not required) Skills:
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems commonly used in creative agencies (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms).
- Previous experience in the creative industries (e.g., PR, media, marketing, advertising, TV & film, or music).
- Experience in a service-based business or industry where the primary offering is time-based, such as consulting, legal, or professional services.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: $90,000–$120,000 (commensurate with experience) bonus benefits
- Location: New York City (Hybrid model)
- Start Date: ASAP
